Workshops for Professionals and Advanced Training

Ohio State University Extension within the School of Environment & Natural Resources strives to meet the continuing educational needs of our natural resource professionals. In order to do this a variety of workshops and seminars are organized throughout the year.  For professional development these sessions will offer continuing education credits where appropriate.  Check back frequently for up to date event details.

Upcoming Workshops

  1. Jun 22, 2022, 9:00am - 11:30am

    Bring a pint of your own syrup and go through the process of grading the syrup. Instructors Mike Rechlin of Future Generations University and Les Ober of Ohio State University Extension will take you through the process of how to grade syrup. Class is limited to the first 30 registrations.
  2. Jun 22, 2022 - Jun 24, 2022, 12:30pm - 3:30pm

    Maple Bootcamp will provide intensive hands-on-training for beginner and intermediate maple producers. The 3-day curriculum begins with sugarbush assessment, then builds sequentially through all phases of maple syrup production from sap collection to boiling, bottling and sales. Participants will gain the skills necessary for the safe, efficient, and profitable production of maple products. Classroom sessions will be held at Ohio State University, Mansfield with several tours and field trips to local maple operations.
