Workshops for Professionals and Advanced Training

Ohio State University Extension within the School of Environment & Natural Resources strives to meet the continuing educational needs of our natural resource professionals. In order to do this a variety of workshops and seminars are organized throughout the year.  For professional development these sessions will offer continuing education credits where appropriate.  Check back frequently for up to date event details.

Upcoming Workshops

  1. Dec 5, 2025, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Join Ohio State Extension's Jake Nicholson for a hands-on day of learning how to "make the grade" with maple syrup. Exploring the regulations around maple syrup grading, what makes it “Grade A,” and how it impacts you as a producer. We will have sessions on flavor, color, clarity, and density, including explorations of the different tools available for measuring these elements. This will be an in-depth workshop that will be a great introduction to syrup grading for new producers and a detailed refresher course for those with established operations. We look forward to seeing you there!
