    Want to learn how to identify some common Ohio trees?  Then join us and spend the day learning common terminology and how to use a dichotomous tree key.  The class starts out in the morning learning some key characteristics to look for and then works with a key on some samples from local trees.  In the afternoon we will go outside and do some hands on identification utilizing that same key.

    Are you having issues with wildlife (deer, rabbits, moles, voles, groundhogs, chipmunks…and the list goes on) in the garden or landscape? We will discuss ways to achieve a happy coexistence with these critters and others (raccoons, skunks, coyotes, and bats) at this workshop! Join Marne Titchenell, Extension Wildlife Specialist in this workshop where she will identify wildlife damage from various species and discuss options to prevent and lessen conflict around the home. Come ready to share your questions/stories about pesky wildlife!

    Maple Bootcamp will provide intensive hands-on-training for beginner and intermediate maple producers. The 3-day curriculum begins with sugarbush assessment, then builds sequentially through all phases of maple syrup production from sap collection to boiling, bottling and sales. Participants will gain the skills necessary for the safe, efficient, and profitable production of maple products. Classroom sessions will be held at Ohio State University, Mansfield with several tours and field trips to local maple operations.

    Bring a pint of your own syrup and go through the process of grading the syrup. Instructors Mike Rechlin of Future Generations University and Les Ober of Ohio State University Extension will take you through the process of how to grade syrup. Class is limited to the first 30 registrations.

    Registration is open for the 2022 Ohio River Valley Woodland and Wildlife Workshop.  The workshop will provide you with forestry and wildlife experts from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio who will address the questions and concerns that you have with the management of your properties. This year's workshop is hosted by our University of Kentucky colleagues and will take place at Boone County Enrichment Center, 1824 Patrick Dr. Burlington, KY 41005.
