    Maple Bootcamp is a 3-day workshop that will provide intensive hands-on-training for beginner and intermediate maple producers. Starting the first day we will learn how to assess a potential sugarbush, then build sequentially through all phases of maple syrup production from sap collection to boiling, bottling and sales. Participants will gain the skills necessary for the safe, efficient, and profitable production of maple products. Classroom sessions will be held at Lake Metroparks Farmpark with several tours and field trips to local maple operations.

Have you considered what invasive plants might be next on the horizon? Join ANR Educator, Carrie Brown, as we explore plant species that are not yet state listed but are exhibiting invasive characteristics.

    Have you ever taken a walk and been curious about the trees along the way? This workshop will walk you through the process of using key characteristics to identify that tree. Join Ohio State University Extension's Erik Draper, Geauga County Extension Educator and Kathy Smith Extension Program Director - Forestry for this hands on workshop on tree identification. We will start inside with samples laying the groundwork for going outside and improving your skills. A dichotomous key will be used as the reference for the day but we will talk about other identification resources.

    This workshop will walk woodland owners through the thought process of how to manage your small woodland. Are you looking to make some money? Are you looking to improve the health of the woodland? We will go through some options for management that will help woodland owners meet some of the goals they have for their property.  We will be using material from the book 'The Woods in Your Backyard' to guide the process.  A copy of the book will be provided to attendees.

Learn how to identify key non-natives, how to monitor and  manage them, and how to report them when you encounter them.     This day-long class is all about the wildlife in your woods. Spend the day learning about the birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals making your woods their home. You will learn management strategies to improve or create habitat, as well as how to identify a variety of wildlife species—all while exploring the Hob Camp Nature Center property.
